ZERO-HUNGER is a diverse team of Temple students that are excited to help Philabundance in their efforts to eradicate hunger within the Delaware Valley. Currently, there are 750,000 people facing hunger in the Delaware Valley. Philabundance provides food to approximately 90,000 people per week – of which 30% are children and 15% are senior citizens. We are passionate about evoking change within our community and to change lives for the better. Our team members consist of individuals from all over the world who have seen people hungry and can relate to their struggles. Thierno Diallo is from Guinea, Abdulla Mohamed is from Bahrain, Shun Ci Lu is from China, Jancy Orbe is from Dominican Republic, and Jonathan Khouly is from Antigua. It hurts our hearts to see people having to live through this every single day. We believe that no one should live their life hungry. Thierno has first-hand experience on the affects hunger can have on people. He is from Guinea in West Africa, one of the poorest countries in the world, with high levels of poverty. He has seen children suffer from malnutrition. With our efforts to raise money and donations, we hope that we can create an impact in the lives of people in the Delaware Valley.
