Throughout this spring semester, our group has had it's troubles with picking and defining our focus for our campaign this semester. This is partly because we are not launching our campaign around a charity, like the rest of the class, but around a business startup. This gave us some unexpected problems involving figuring out exactly what we were going to launch around, a marketing campaign or a sales campaign. On top of that, we have had so many great ideas about what we would love to see done with the business, and ithas steered us in many different directions, leaving nothing really to grab on for investors. This became evident after our Shark Tank presentation, when it was clear that many of the judges were confused about what our main goal was. They were given all this information about our mission, but did not see a clear cause that we were completely focusing on. The presentation gave our group the opportunity to brainstorm and establish our clear mission. In the beginning, we were basically equally focusing on marketing and sales, which left the judges confused. Now, we have decided to put our full effort towards sales. Our thinking behind this was that launching a sales campaign will be the most effective. In theory, we believe that if we focus totally on sales, the people who are our potential customers will have to learn all about our product before they purchase it. This gives us the opportunity to capitalize on our other vision to help spread awareness of unethical clothing manufacturing around the world. Ideally, we will have the chance to educate customers about our cause, providing them not only motivation to buy our shirts, but also motivation to help spread awareness to our cause. This strategy should help us easily meet our sales goals, and simultaneously help us reach our social media goals for the semester. We have many other ideas for social media growth, so we feel great about our decision in focusing on shirt sales for the semester. -Understand Your Brand
